- White nonionic water soluble powder used alternatively to hydrosulfite bleaching giving much better results at higher temperatures
- Higher reduction potential than hydrosulfide
- Highly stable and can be used in a wide pH range
- Undesired Sulfur Dioxide gas does not released during reductive bleaching
- It does not cause stinking problem during processing as hydrosulfite bleaching process
- It is less flammable tha nother reducing agents
